03 Jun 2025

In a move aimed at strengthening tourism and bilateral relations, the Philippines has officially granted visa-free entry to Indian nationals starting May 19, 2025. The new visa exemption comes with two entry options based on travelers’ profiles.

14-Day Visa-Free Entry for All Indians

All Indian passport holders can now visit the Philippines for up to 14 days without a visa. This short-term entry is ideal for tourists and business travelers. However, the stay is non-extendable, and travelers must exit the country before the 14-day period ends.

30-Day Visa-Free Entry for Certain Visa Holders

Indian nationals who hold valid visas or permanent residency permits from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Schengen countries, Australia, Japan, or Singapore are eligible for a 30-day visa-free stay in the Philippines. This option targets experienced travelers with strong travel records.

Entry Requirements

To qualify for visa-free travel, Indian nationals must meet the following conditions:

  • A valid passport with at least 6 months validity beyond the stay.
  • A return or onward ticket confirming departure from the Philippines.
  • Proof of accommodation, such as hotel bookings or a host invitation.
  • Sufficient funds to cover the trip (e.g., bank statements).
  • For the 30-day option, a valid visa or resident permit from the listed countries must be presented.

Important Notes

  • The 14-day visa-free entry cannot be extended.
  • All travelers must comply with Philippine laws and regulations during their stay.
  • Any violation may result in penalties or a ban on future entry.

Why It Matters

This policy marks a significant step in improving people-to-people ties between India and the Philippines. It also opens new opportunities for Indian tourists and business travelers to explore the country’s rich culture, natural beauty, and vibrant cities without the hassle of visa applications.
